On October 17, Riyadh witnessed a fashion moment like no other! Vivienne Westwood kicked off Riyadh Fashion Week 2025 with its very first show in the Middle East. Set against the breathtaking Palm Grove, this runway was a celebration of Saudi Arabian craftsmanship at its finest.
In collaboration with Art of Heritage, the first pioneering Saudi house for couture fashions inspired by national heritage, Westwood unveiled a special capsule collection of gowns intricately embroidered by Saudi artisans. Each piece told a story, blending Vivienne Westwood’s iconic couture style.
It featured fine corsetry, drapery inspired by Ancient Greek statues, romantic capes, and sculpted silhouettes, with traditional embroidery techniques like Hashu, Nadqdah (Talli), Dabkah, and Zari. The result? Textured, layered, and light-catching masterpieces that shine both on the runway and in the imagination.
The show also featured highlights from Vivienne Westwood’s Spring/Summer 2026 collection, where tailoring took center stage. From wide bag trousers paired with double-breasted jackets to midi dresses with playful keyhole necklines, the collection combined modern proportions with classic checks, tartans, and dramatic leg-of-mutton sleeves. The palette ranged from sky blue and cream through turquoise to black, a house favourite.
This runway wasn’t just about fashion. It was a celebration of cultural exchange, heritage, and female empowerment, bringing together global design with Saudi skill. Among the star-studded audience were Faye Peraya, Win Metawin, and Yara Alnamlah.
Riyadh Fashion Week is fast becoming a global fashion destination, and Vivienne Westwood’s show proved just how powerful and beautiful cross-cultural collaboration can be. For more, visit riyadhfashionweek.com!
